Exactly this. Most consoles of the era were set up fundamentally to work with tightly defined graphical regimes. For the NES as an example, has almost zero ability to work with pixels or bits. It fundamentally at a hardware level deals with

Musk literally just started bribing right wing activist accounts with Twitter cash. He is absolutely not wanting to disenfranchise activists, he's wanting to target them at people he doesn't like.

I got a link celebrating Uncle Tom's Cabin. Although to be fair to the page, it does feature an 'African-American Responses' section, right next to the 'Pro-Slavery Responses'.

Lycoris didn't become Lindows, those were two separate products from two different companies. Lycoris/Redmond Linux was bought out by Mandrake/Mandriva, Lindows went on to be bought by Ximian. Same end goal though, make a bla

Are you old enough to remember Lindows? in like 2000/2001 it was a straight Windows ripoff, even used the old Win 9x/2k theme iirc, and had WINE built in, preconfigured and would intercept windows programs automatically and run th

For the aftermarket firmware that allows non-ChromeOS OSs, theres a compatibility list at https://mrchromebox.tech/#devices that will show you if full UEFI firmware is available, and the write-protect method you need to dis

An aspect of fair use is that it doesn't interfere with the actual market for the thing. A movie analysis, even one that heavily uses the work its analyzing to illustrate its points, is not usable as a substitute for watching the film

By the time my family got a home computer it was a 120 Mhz Pentium system, but I spent basically all of elementary, middle and high school using m68k and PPC macs at school. During the pandemic i picked up two m68k Macs and 2 PPC Macs to sa

Near as I can tell the POWER9 chips (at least the IBM ones) only have backwards compatibility through POWER7 from 2010. The last PPC chip Apple used, the G5, implemented the POWER4 ISA, so that's pretty far back.

It can run up to OS 9, not just OS 9. It'll run any classic Mac OS that supports PPC, so I think that takes you back to the 7.5 line.

That tool says it does for 4k for HBO Max. All the other platforms (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney+) are 720 or 1080 though. Wonder whats going on there.
