I took delivery of a beautiful new shiny HW4 Tesla Model X today, so I immediately took it out for an FSD test drive, a bit like I used to do almost daily for 5 years. Basically... I'm amazed - it drives really, really well, smooth, co

I'm talking about how Bukele went slash and burn against the gangs, arresting anyone loosely associated with them. Yes, plenty of innocent or less-guilty people got swept up in this dragnet, but it totally changed the society there. Pe

Reasonable take. I think they at least believe they are doing something good for the country. The El Salvador approach to extreme aggression against cartels has changed the calculus for many leaders in the Americas. See Rio De Janeiro last

Of course it is. You're saying there is no objective truth, and there is not point in trying for it?

Thanks for the reply. "an alternative Wikipedia with a different editorial bias" I think the stated goal is to reduce bias, not to just rotate it to another view. Of course some things are difficult to reduce to facts, but plenty

I'm reacting to the top comment when I opened this thread saying that this confirm Musk is "evil". Can anyone give a coherent explanation of why the intention behind Grokipedia is... bad?

So do you have an argument against the concept of Grokipedia?

How was my comment hateful? The far right is as indoctrinated as the far right. But I think most liberals don't realize how much of media is left-leaning.

I always find it interesting how the majority of comments on threads like this on HN are dismissive of current AI systems as "gimmicks", yet some of the most successful people on the planet think it's worth plowing a trillion

Palmer Lucky touched on this last week - how China would love to slowly winnow away American automobile manufacturing capacity, because that capacity would be converted to wartime production in the event of a large scale war.

What’s your gripe with the part about the AI productivity boost? For anyone working in fairly standard web dev tech, I’d say it’s more of a red flag if a boss denies the productivity boost of these tools (at least when used by senior devs)

I'm not saying I don't understand having empathy for any type of civilians in a war zone. But there are plenty of worse massacres over the last 10 years, and the far left folks aren't up in arms over it. They only care about

I don't understand why leftists are so ravenous about Palestine, but NOT batting any eye about the [actual] genocide of Christians in Nigeria. I think their empathy comes from a good place, at least in their minds, but it's so sel

That’s nonsensical, IMO. Software updates should not be considered recalls at all. Unless it’s a critical safety issue that makes the vehicle unusable.
