To be a developed country you simply need 2 things. Average IQ >= 100, and a free market. Every country that has these (north america, non-communist europe, japan, south korea, singapore, taiwan, hongkong, israel) is a developed country.

Communism. Any society with majority chinese population (singapore, taiwan, hong kong) that has a free market is a modern developed country. China stuck behind for 50 years, and is now catching up.

Well, the Osulans are not going to let themselves be seen by multiple Terran sensors. That would completely violate the galactic accord. Besides, if they were seen they would just blow up aircraft anyway.

Companies are not interested in not endangering their users. They only care about making money. So you have the make endangering their users negative on their bottom-line. This is a perfectly workable system, that does not require any party

for any amount of food, it's better to have an adult rather than an elder, for any particular gene. So a truly optimal age system would have no old age at all, you will just die off after your children are self-sustaining.
