A little amusing that the article claims you shouldn't use Ad Hominem attacks because otherwise you will be "stupid".

I couldn't agree more with this article- I've found myself doing the same with an even older Eeepc 701. It's far less distracting to work on a netbook. You simply don't have the horsepower or screen real estate to waste on non-essentials, a

As you said, not very practical from a programming perspective, but it's an interesting way of looking at the problem. Thanks.

That assumes they want an even distribution of apples in each crate. My reading of the problem would suggest that for each apple we should choose a random box and insert the apple into said box. The question seems like a poorly phrased disc

While it's true- this has been covered in the past, programming has a fair bit to do with clever math.

Using reflection really hamstrings the JVM JIT- This stack overflow thread corroborates the "factor of ten" figure, in this case for object instantiation: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/435553/java-reflection-pe...

Maybe this is just a personal thing, but it always struck me as odd that the recommended variable names for loop counters are the two letters that look most similar to a semicolon. I tend to use x and y.

I hope this won't come off as too critical, but you're using the word "penultimate" incorrectly- I've done it myself many times. To quote Wikipedia, "The ultimate is the last and final item in a series. The related words penultimate and ant
