How can anyone make a generalized statement about “the algorithm” when it is by definition personalized? All YouTube cares about is keeping you on the platform as long as possible.

This looks to me like they originally made it available for free and then changed their mind. The developer is well within their right to do so, but don't be surprised that people find it confusing and try to avoid paying for it.

I feel like I "earned" the right to use big ugly IDE after learning the underlying complexity the hard way, but that's only for one language. Jumping into a new language with JetBrains is the difference between me spending 2

I get the sentiment of what you're saying, but being dismissive about someone's health concerns is cruel. If anything, it's a bit sad that this person felt so let down by their healthcare system that they decided to build sof

I don’t think the rise of shorts is mutually exclusive with longer videos being pushed on the platform, as well. Many people leave YouTube on in the background, but it doesn’t make sense to do that with TikTok style clips

People also use YouTube in different ways than they used to. Leaving it on in the background while they do something else. I’m sure YouTube’s algorithm is good at detecting which videos perform well even when you’re only listening to it.

Related question: is there any way to keep the Bitwarden window open when I’m unfocusing it without popping it out into a separate window? That workflow makes copying logins painfully slow for me.

Can confirm. The browser extension usually works just fine when offline, but in this case my vault was logged out and I'm entirely without access. Still works on mobile, so it's not the end of the world.

First, they aren't anonymous. It's a lot more friction when you have to generate an account (which also requires a captcha). Second, Twitter absolutely does make you perform captchas if they suspect you are a bot. I say this as so

Hahaha that’s so true. Your employer wants you to act like a robot anyway so give them what they want. It’s a sad race to the bottom but at least it’s kinda funny.
