Marketing data The referred by string in the request tells them what page the user is loading which requires a script from this CDN. They could have other business angles as well, but user tracking is certainly one possibility.

Ah, a kindred spirit. I too despise Angular’s static-OOP, inversion of control dependency injection framework aspect. I’m working on two huge projects using AngularJS, but would just as soon do the next with Vue. Hopefully Typescript does

It sounds like type inference for object literals is coming along, even if there a few quibbles about some of the defaults on literals mentioned here. Did they ever get a solution in place for partial function application (e.g. - as for Ram

So, the M5 (M05) needed more power? As somebody who started out in the 80s with Apple II and C64 stuff the year before going to college, I always laughed at the old “Star Trek’ episode where the new computer has to tap into the main engine

Or worse, Typescript. Nothing but class files, many with one or two public func^H^H^H^H methods in each file, as far as the eye can see :-( To me, idiomatic JS is FP oriented, but I guess that’s just me. Most of my work has been on the f

I remember back in the early 90s having a copy of both Borland packages Pascal and C++ for Windows (3.x). They had similar demo programs. I compared one of them (forgot which) The C++ demo would build in 5 minutes on my machine. The [Obje

And the file browser app lets me get just about everything I need to in and out of music production apps. E.g samples and rendered songs.

Is it obvious that the same variable is assigned in every branch, though?

Alternative solution: put the if/else block in an “IIFE” (which Go supports, just like JavaScript) and change the assignments to returns.

You assigned “myVar” in every branch, right? Let me reread that again to make sure you really are assigning myVar in every case. That’s a problem. One I’ve seen all too often, but a problem, nonetheless.

About the only change I would make to your layout is to put a line break after the “?”, with the value sub-indented on the next line, to avoid “guessing” /maintaining how far to tab over the value column. Thus, it would be layed out li

One application domain with a largish number of iOS apps is electronic music. The latency (sample buffer size to prevent drop-out due to preemption) on Android is too high, so mobile music production gravitated to iOS. E.g. - the latency o

Yeah, I hear you. Replacing 10s of thousands of JS lines with 100s of thousands of Java lines doesn’t feel like progress. Most Java (only) programmers look at JS as an “inferior, weird” language, but it’s actually much more powerful and c

I don’t think most cities have the economy of scale to justify much software development. This seems like something that needs to be done at the state level, setting up cities and counties as multi-tenants within a state level application.

Hierarchy vs list. I don’t want a list (of subroutines). I want a tree of self contained routines. Only your containing routine uses you. Which “private“ routines use which? (I know the IDE will tell me about this routine, and that
