Hah. There you go: you need almost the opposite mix as me, except for not wanting an easy-to-break charging port, either :-)

I like the idea of a large SD card for Time Machine. I have external USB connected drives, though. I use wired networking every day at work (alas, with a USB adapter now, since the hardware that hooked everything up to thunderbolt broke)

Dear Apple, Here is my list of things your laptop should have: * A headphone jack that supports the built-in microphone (conferencing, anyone?) * The magsafe power connector - my kids are rough on stuff, even my stuff. * USB ports, perhap

The only thing in ng-1 that really bit me, speed wise, was long select/option lists. I wrote a bit to load them using jQuery instead of ng-options and now I'm good.

Wellllllll... I does make me want to learn React & React Mobile if I have to largely start over, anyway. Not saying ng-2 is not an improvement, just that it's a big change to take in.

I wonder if Angular will develop into a sort of "Perl 5 vs 6" thing? Perhaps if many people just aren't ready, willing and able to make the jump to the next version.

BINGO! It smells like GWT all over again. I love experimenting with ng-1: make a static HTML mockup; add a stub controller with a sample model and modify the HTML to insert the data and edit things as needed; add some event handlers with

I hear you on the education thing. Intuitively, the "two tables with same structure" approach is redundant, but it's helpful to have the math/logic to unambiguously define what "redundant" is. Having 2 tuple t

Perhaps it's an "emergent property" of the system of laws, and culture, that are in place? How much "charity", percentage wise, do you think corporate management could actually take part in? (I don't mean P&#x

Those can also be looked at as cost reduction measures: medical premiums, lawsuits and regulatory fines result from blatant negligence. (as well as other indirect effects such as dissuading anybody competent from staffing your death-trap)

People seem to lose sight of that: corporations are REQUIRED to be as ruthless as they can legally get away with, or they are literally in violation of the law in terms of making money for their owners. The law is the ONLY thing that curbs

The Guild concept feels much like a mix of actors and messaging from Erlang and Go. Not as restrictive as Erlang, but not as permissive as Go. (there was a nod to Elixir/Erlang in the slides)

Things might generate an error, but they shouldn't just quietly munge stuff. God knows how many times I've had to clean up Java servlet stuff that cross-talked between threads. Yuck. I really hope they make this work in Ruby 3.

Hmm. I was under the impression that when you transferred the membership of an object, the "guild-local" or local lexical scope variable would be nulled out. Little to check if that's the case.
