If I were to create 300 instances of something with actual func^H^H^H^H methods attached, rather than 3 instances, I would probably look into creating a prototype and coping with the perils of “this” usage, but otherwise, I’m not going to l

Yes, especially if the result is only used in a small number of nearby places, which is usually the case. My IDE can easily infer the properties of such objects, as well as display the JSDoc for such properties.

On the one hand, I hear what you are saying, but on the other hand, I share the original poster’s frustration with what seems to be a culture that wants to force Simula 67 / C++ / Java as the last word on how everything MUST be do

And in my case, less Java I have to read or write on the back end :-) I agree, though - it’s much easier to reason about the data integrity and security when there is a smaller code base on the back end, by virtue of splitting user interfac

"more exotic" :-) OK, hardcore studio level stuff. Yeah, that's a bit beyond my hobby "Behringer" type stuff. Recently upgraded from 2-in/4-out to 4-in/4-out. Still plenty of bandwidth on USB 2 for that.

And it still has real USB A ports so you don’t have to hop your audio interface through a C to A dongle thing. Though I don’t know if a C->A adapter is just rerouting wires, or has circuits with their own latency - either way, it’s a bi

There’s a certain amount of irony (iron-y?) that heavy fissionable materials are formed when fusion stalls: the core of a large star is turned into iron, fusion “goes out”, then the star collapses and goes supernova. Heavier elements are

The back ticks function as parens, effectively. The function receives multiple arguments, NOT a single string. Think “sprintf”. And semicolons are just noise :-)

Agreed. I much prefer the style that Anders H. went with in C# of unchecked exceptions and the recommendation to have a single “catcher” at the top of a main event handler/loop spot in the code. Rather than catch littered everywhere,
