I use latex daily and tolerate it. If you can offer me a tool that does a similar job (conforms to ieee journal style specifications and deals with citations well) then I would love to hear about it. The biggest reason I do like latex, is t

Rather than mining, you could just let a trusted authority issue blocks which would be validated by peers, it still prevents double spend, but would allow the authority to prevent transactions.

Interestingly, the site breaks on vertical monitor orientation. Rather than attempt to render it complains and asks the user to maximize the already maximized window.

Please setup a better way to distribute the non-commercial version. If you insist on using the self-extracting archive, please make it accessible via wget. If this works half as well as it claims, I am willing to pay you for a commercial si

I really like CJDNS, but it is more suitable to run on real routers than to use for virtual networking. Its overlay network and routing does not take into account real latency or congestion of the rest of the internet.

I rather happy about that, it saves me a lot of work. I've already cloned the repo on github (and a few local machines). Essentially I currently plan on unwrapping their administration system and switching to a shared secret model.

This is painfully close to something that could be much better. Sadly this "p2p" system is strongly centralized. I cannot make a private network without zero-tier's authorization. I cannot add nodes to a private network witho

this is a background in this vein I did a while ago. http://www.glidr.net/ It runs a lot slower than it could. Running it faster made it less appealing. (works on mobile)

I like the concept. The mockup to which you linked is a bit confusing. I think a box explaining that it is read only would be nice. (it actually seems more complex than that, I had an entire virtual machine to play with but it reset the hdd

The solution I use for this is that when you run a rooted phone you can set tor to wrap the socket interface for almost every network enabled app without that app breaking.

So, in the end, exchanging a key over a wire inevitably turns out to be a bad idea. What tools are out there for physical key exchange?

The realistic use case is to use a tree-structure similar to the one we have, then use namecoin as verification.

Alice just signs Carols name. Bob looks up Carol's name in the blockchain. The primary application is TLS style authentication, so the user ideally already knows the name of their intended recipient.

The byzantine Trust issue is really just all agreeing on a a value. A handle/name and public key pair is such a value. We can distribute public keys in a block-chain. This pushes MIM attacks down to the last mile between a block-chain

Well, maybe not. Web of Trust has serious scaling issues. https://bitcointalk.org/oldSiteFiles/byzantine.html Blockchain based key distribution may let you anchor trust to a decentralized process.

I can see an argument that a system like this could be an "operating system" for a high level p2p system. Large swaths of what they are doing are undisclosed, but the object and user management system would make a decent theoretic
