I learned a good lesson too. When I was a management trainee, my training manager abandoned me (physically left). I was two people short, meaning I was dealing with drive through (taking orders, filling orders, and taking money) and making

I read most of my books, first time through, on the computer. Reading is a discipline. Reading well partly means ignoring, or eliminating distractions. If you're truly interested in attaining as much information possible, then e-books are m

I didn't figure this all out until we got our own chickens. I even threw out an egg because it had been sitting outside for over a day. I didn't know at the time that a farmer has 30 days to sell his eggs. That the grocery store has another

The amount of royalties we have received from sales to hobbyists makes the time spent on Altair BASIC worth less than $2 an hour. I once calculated my per hour wage from the work I did. About $1.50 Hang in there Bill!

Ultimately, there is nothing that can be done about sharing data. We're at the beginning of a cascading stupid-decision phenomenon. But, at some point we are going to have rethink our reward paradigm. Change the meaning of money?

walking by a ledge and thinking of throwing your new laptop off it Whoa, that just gave me chills. When I used to work for fast food, every time I walked by the deep fryer with a bucket of ice I'd wonder about all the things that would ha

Prime is REALLY worth it when it comes around to the holidays, and this just makes it better. Less hastle. Better gifts. Easier to hide the gifts. And Prime's perks continue throughout the year.

MacLeod’s “Loser” layer had me puzzled for a long time, because I was interpreting it in cultural terms: the kind of person you call a “loser.” While some may be losers in that sense too, they are primarily losers in the economic sense: th

This is true of a lot of trades. Music and writing. Do not let people in on your work, unless they're privy and trusted. It is hard for average people get excited about your intentions, if it isn't presented properly. In fact, it is all abo

Count me in for the hacker commune. I've seen so much work get done in similar sittings for musicians and writers. And it'd be great to have more people who "get it" physically around you.
