The kind of insight that we value is obviously not a state of mind. Let's not nitpick verbiage and risk missing the point. Valuing different states of mind and interesting artwork is not the same as valuing insight. Just because psyche

What I said was that there is no evidence that fusion on Earth will work that can be derived from simply looking up at the sun. Context matters.

If that were the case, then those insights would be remain insightful when taught to someone who isn't on the drug. And if it isn't teachable, it's neither demonstrably true nor valuable. Alertness is a state of mind. Insight

Some of us just want to be engineers but know full well how difficult that actually is and want to be paid well enough to seriously research that problem. Thus most of us are experimentalists and prototype engineers, not ones making claim

The sun's fusion is powered by the gravitational attraction of ~10e30 Kg of matter. That is not even remotely an option on Earth, so there is no evidence of feasibility about the energy produced by the sun, aside from the fact that it

We don't have any trouble creating fusion explosions. The whole trouble of fusion is sustaining a reaction. Fusion bombs already exist, and what you're describing isn't that different from an Ulam-Teller device.

What I'm saying is that empathy is completely useless... other than the fact that it allows you to turn "someone I don't care about" into "someone I don't know, but care about enough to make meaningful sacrific

You say it depends on the problem you're solving, but if you turn around and look at the problems people are solving, you could easily see them falling largely into a few common classes. Like, we all will admit that no natural language

If you want to sustain a fusion reaction for generating power through heat, you're not going to do it at room temperature, and there're not many materials that will remain solid at fusion temperatures.

Forcing someone to do a job without paying them is slavery. Don't conflate things just to suit a narrative. This kind of law is problematic for legitimate reasons, not made up BS like "it's slavery."

It would seem then that anybody who fails to pay their end of a transaction would get off scot-free? Because they only way you can maintain the usefulness of money is if you enforce payment where it is due.

Most fusion is powered by gravity, so at this point, low gravity has been nothing but an impediment.

It wouldn't expect it to mean much. You're probably just not waking up during your dreams and staying in bed to ruminate over them. Dreams don't go into recallable memory unless you hold onto them when you're waking. If

The fear may be rational, but the response to it needs to be rational as well. That means treating the things that are known to do the most damage currently, while maintaining containment procedures that can handle your black swan epidemics

A corollary: if something is true, but not relevant, then why should anybody care if it is true? Know when you're putting your efforts into things that can't pay off.

That doesn't do a lot when people are passing you and cutting into your lane immediately after doing so. Now you have to slow and and everyone behind you starts doing the same thing. It's irritating and unsafe.
