Once could argue that this sort of thing happens because people are very quick to try and turn any value-making proposition into a money-making proposition, as though the relationship between the two were simple and obvious, or often, equiv

Why would colonizing the moon in a self-sufficient way be faster than doing the same thing on Antarctica or the bottom of the ocean? The only thing I can think that would make it faster is that people will romanticize space colonization so

My favorite example of this is when someone says "Nobody knows X." As though your own ignorance is as good as everyone's ignorance. Somebody might know X. And they might know X for all the right reasons. But they probably did

You assert that there is no knowledge under the expectation that it is true, then you go on and justify it. So it seems you know that there is no knowledge, a contradiction. Why deny the word has meaning, just because you can't distill

That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. You can (and should) simply refuse to take any polygraphs. It will never work in your favor.

So you're willing to argue that the output of a polygraph is evidence of something in absence of any responses you give during questioning?

What does it mean for a polygraph to be "correct?" They're not lie detectors, they are stress detectors. You can't "fail" a polygraph in any reliable sense.

My understanding is that the police use polygraphs simply as a 'primed' question-asking session for people who agree to take them. It is no different from sitting down and asking someone questions, except maybe they will believe y
