If the tool does the task for you, then you didnt do the task. I don't keep my food cold, my refrigerator does. I just turned it on. This doesn't matter unless I am for some reason pretending I myself am keeping my food cold someh

Trying to use the New Testament as a paragon of enlightened thinking, especially regarding slavery, is going to be a tough sell.

I imagine his memory and those of people who memorized instead of wrote were better. So by that metric, writing is making people dumber. It's just not all that relevant today, and we don't prioritize memorization to the extent P

A couple things. 1. The early Church, including some Apostles, thought "the end times" were imminent. People have not stopped thinking this for 2000 years. I think the conclusion here is obvious. 2. Anti-abortion laws, especially

The comment is a joke, but Texas absolutely has dystopian laws about abortion, making it illegal to go to another state for one.

It's really not an either/or proposition. Humans have used a much larger variety of systems of social and economic organization than capitalists would have you believe. We have innovated as a species in so many ways, like putting

I am generally anti-capitalist, and a big reason is because I don't think capitalism, inherently and fundamentally, can become anything other than what it is now. The benefit its provided is rarely accurately weighed against the harms,

I agree 100%. The point though is that Trump and friends aren't doing this with the food supply or security in mind. This is pure authoritarianism and red meat for his racist base.

I assumed this was going to be about US Senator Rick Scott, because that's who comes to mind when I hear "massive Medicare fraud". But there seems to be a new contender for the title now.

This is the true problem with AI. It's with who owns it, and what they will inevitably use it for. Whether it can do cool stuff with code or equal a junior developer is irrelevant. What it can do is less important than what it will be
