Sounds like overkill, literally. I mean, if every ton of CO2 emitted had to be offset by certificates for 1.1 tons of CO2, that were truly removed from the atmosphere, the climate problem would be solved over time and we could switch to 1:1

Not a carbon "price", just an auction of CO2 ton equivalents to keep the atmosphere balanced: Before a plane lifts off, the CO2 equivalent offsets need to be bought at the global auction house. This would make the market regulate

Right, I was talking more about how it SHOULD work. As you correctly said, it doesn't work at all right now. As in, no CO2 can be emitted, before buying the offset first. It's the only solution I can see, but I agree that it'

Of course not, my software does not put CO2 or CO2 equivalents into the atmosphere. What matters is keeping the atmosphere balanced or even remove greenhouse gases from it. The way to do it is to have serious carbon certificates, as in coal

How does it achieve this frame rate? I thought teletext would cycle through the pages 100 to 899, sending one per frame? I guess the pages themselves are numbered and this only sends page 100 on every frame? Regarding not being able to &quo

Okay, but please use `let output = {}` instead. Yeah, I know, const/let is about the mutability of the variable, not its content, but if you use const I'll assume you write in an immutable style, which you don't when you do `

That's not EU, that's actually illegal under EU law. EU law requires that the "reject all" option is as easy to identify and click than the other ones.

IANAL, but the German holocaust rules are about propaganda and I don't think that personal notes that were intended to not be read by anyone else can be considered propaganda.

If you'd like run classic BASIC programs on your old programmable calculator (HP 15-C) you can use this compiler written in Idris: https://gitlab.com/michaelzinn/voyc

Yeah, like a binary today, right? What's the problem if the new "source code" is all prompts written in natural language and the classical code is just a build artifact?

Did you read the article? The mass of the rock you happen to be standing on determines how fast time passes, so "UTC everywhere" would result in longer or shorter seconds depending on location.

No, Mars has less mass than Earth, so if you use Earth UTC, Mars seconds will be longer than SI seconds, which does not seem like a good idea.

It's a good comment because it summarizes the article better than the title does. Every article with a misleading title should have a top comment like that.

It's fully deterministic, multiplayer works by only sending user input around (at a reduced tick rate) and the unit movements get calculated locally from that.

It's not necessarily real time, you only experience time at the same rate, no matter how fast the universe is calculating in meta time. Or maybe time is a 4th spacial dimension, then the universe would be a finished, static thing, no m
