I wonder how many gigawatts / terawatts a cable would need to carry before you can fit gunship patrols into the budget.

[2019] Author builds a compiler that _targets_ WebAssembly, not a compiler that _takes in_ WebAssembly. Interesting but I was hoping for the other side, a minimal AOT or JIT wasm --> machine code compiler.

> There is no reason that OpenCV should be struggling to get 500k with all the projects that use it. The reason is tragedy of the commons. The software is gratis, and they're getting paid the asking price.

I'm GPU poor. Sick of buying hardware that is not only not fast enough after a year, but not even supported by software that just multiplies and adds numbers in fancy ways. Debian runs like a champ on my 8 year old CPU. When will gpus

tbf I prefer to measure human loss in QALYs in case a disease mostly kills old people. It's impossible to measure perfectly but it's not worse than "A death". We all die in the end.

Not related to ML/AI or Stable Diffusion. It's about generating 3D blue noise for rendering, it's very interesting on its own but the title is misleading.

That's why a carbon tax (pollution tax, I hate calling pollution carbon) would be better than straight outlawing natural gas fuel. Too bad voters hate prices being anything but uniform and cheap. So much backlash even against demand pr

Yeah, going all-in on WinFS, DWM, and .NET is a big risk budget. I remember people theorizing that Vista (and later, some Mono-heavy revision of GNOME) were slow because of using .NET to replace C++ apps, but I don't remember if it was
