A half-life of 10,000 years means the fraction (0 to 1) of healthy bonds at year t can be modeled by (1/2)^(t/10000). To have 1% bonds broken, it would take an expected 145 years. EDIT: Fixed the numbers, my bad!

I feel like TeamBlind is the exact opposite of LinkedIn -- no positivity, no one cares about mission or whatever, the #1 thing is TC and WLB, and everyone is anonymous. And yet its posts are much more honest, candid and just overall useful

I've worked in 3 companies with the classic Silicon Valley starter pack consisting of Slack, GitHub (not part of Office 365), and GSuite, and found it overall pretty good! What features did you find missing? Personally I shudder at the

It's catchy, it attracts attention, and it makes people learn what the movement is about. It's one thing to say "defund the police", and it's another to say "penalize police brutality, take police funds and use

Unfortunately, you still can't trust someone who's been correct every single time. Considering that there's thousands of people giving predictions, there's likely going to be one person "winning" the coinflips.

I doubt PG is hastily rewriting all of YC's investment agreements as we speak to resolve this loophole! This very much depends on the contract that was signed between the company and YC. Most likely, the founder has a fiduciary duty to

So since a 10-sigma event could result in a 200-yr old person, there is no real limit? There is no hard limit, but clearly the age distribution drops suddenly (for developed countries) at 70. There are a bunch of single points of failure in

With good autocomplete, I wouldn't mind it! I was honestly thinking of stuff like `du` (disk usage), `cp`, `mv`, and the like. Like I sort of mnemonically remember them, compared to mentally mapping `convert` -> imagemagick.
