On the other hand if this oopsies its way into a codebase it could highlight a serious problem with the code review process..

Saw a team trip all over themselves trying to implement the pagination and also introduced a bunch of caching bugs(predictable any time caching is introduced). It's cool that it's ALSO a general pattern for any async call, but i

Sounds close to my experience with Rider the other week. Had a fantastic experience migrating my dev environment to WSL+VSCode from VirtualBox. Went to try Rider pointed at the WSL instance and.. Basically gave up on it lol.

I love layers above sql because it can make a lot of domain logic nice to model. But dropping down when it it makes sense and finding a rock solid foundation is nice too. <3 Entity Framework Core but also love the new interfaces that let

To expand on my own reply.. Can load 10-20k records(ymmv) in 20ms or under where it would otherwise take 150ms. That can be a game changer based on use case by itself, but if you are used to thinking about what's viable in Ruby or etc

This library is proper fast. Don't get distracted comparing this to other libraries just on the basis of similar string template syntax; it doesn't have a dependency on pg because it implements its own low level client. I've

Usually not big secrets. I do and have done both and a blend. Secrets for external services needed in dev usually in parameter store. Kinda depends on the existing work flow. There is so much to do you should be tackling problems that move

You can also just supply defaults that can be locally overriden.. Benefit is they are reviewable in the same PR that adds the code depending on them..

It's because devices have been pushing these system preferences. At one point I believe MacBook Pros were coming with default dark mode(or at least asking you which you prefer during startup). My phone auto switches to dark preference

Yes this is exactly it. I like to review stuff and typically don't keep a large cash balance. An expensive month could 5x or more my spend; maybe I just paid for an overseas vacation, my home owners and auto insurance is hitting, and w

There is a pattern matching aspect but I think the energy behind it is largely motivated by a desire to clean up syntax when working with data structure based APIs and DSLs. I've read the proposal, design meeting notes, and GH conversa

Personally I would rather use Fastify+MikroORM. Or Asp.Net. Or Flask with SqlAlchemy + the migration and validation libs(marshmallow?) Or whatever is good in Golang.

Is this true for Windows Pro users? Sounds like it could be. I pay for Pro(multiple times) so I have access to Hyper-V and Bitlocker. With some config/opt-out I've enjoyed pretty much zero ads in Windows. Would be a shame if this

Automerge is interesting as it's an op-based CRDT system vs state-based.. This should make use cases involving a central authority easier to work with but.. Their docs lack any detail useful to taking advantage of this haha.
