The Firebug team officially supports Firebug Lite for Chrome. Have you tried it? It still doesn't have full JavaScript debugging, but it'll cover 80% of everything else you need. https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/bmagokdooijbee

Hey! It's like Marmaduke Explained ( http://marmadukeexplained.blogspot.com/ ), but, in a subversive twist, the commentary is less funny than the comic. Postmodern!

Adobe employees will be fine - they get an unheard-of 24 days of PTO per year (three of which are automagically consumed during the holidays).

Yeah, the prices are hard to justify. I don't have $300 or $400 to spend every month on top of rent money. All the co-working spaces I've visited here seem like nice places to work, each with its own individual culture and network, but th

I've got a Hackintosh tower - the first PC I've ever built (and I learned a LOT doing it!). I threw a Core 2 Quad, a Velociraptor drive, and 4GB memory in there. This is attached to a 30-inch monitor and a split, ergonomic keyboard, upon

A conference I can afford! Aside from the celebrity wow, the $99 price tag caught my eye first. (Not to say that more expensive conferences aren't worth every dollar, but when you're kind-of consulting/running a struggling software/on a ra

So classic. A few years ago I told my dad what I was playing and he told me he had played Hack (from which NetHack is derived) on his first PC. Roguelikes have aged better than any other games I can think of.

I'll admit that I don't know enough about this. Got any pointers or links for the intermediate Rails hacker? (I'll check out ab, as mentioned in your post.)

Boat, schmoat. Call me when I can be a hacker in my flying, Mario 3-esque airship. I'll be in my room under the green pipe. Seriously, this is a pretty awesome article. It looks like the main problem is Internet access, for which there a

This only works if everyone stops supporting IE6 together. But if your site doesn't work on IE6, and your competitor's site (of comparable quality) does, you're going to lose traffic to him. I mean, this is basically the prisoner's dilemma.

Solid advice for recent grads. Most of the list pertains to software engineers, too. To add to #4 - "You must be able to handle irrelevant criticism": when I was working as a junior developer, my mentors would intentionally throw in a hide

Seconding the reCAPTCHA recommendation - I can't think of a way to make it any simpler than this. It even works if you're developing from localhost. I put off implementing our captcha for a long time, believing that it would take a day of

I'm holding out for any hints at what will go into iPhone 2009. If the 3G and 2.0 were any indication, there might be some new, hardware-bound features exclusive to the next iPhone refresh. They've done 3G and they've done GPS. What could
