I stand corrected. The FAQ mentions appearing as two LUN's but only in the SAS version. https://www.seagate.com/content/dam/seagate/migrated-assets/...

So it’s just one stacked on top of the other. Presumably, then, the competitor product is two hard drives. Is this /much/ cheaper? Presumably better for rack space. Power consumption? Does it even matter that it uses one fewer con

I don't think we can include TSMC in the list of AI goldrush companies, they have a pretty diverse client base.

No fewer than four cores across three architectures. It might be even harder to code for than the PS2.

Oh nothing really, it's just another cog is all. I'm running nginx because there's some things I want to serve statically (and it does a couple of other boring tasks really well too), so if I could just point it at the enviro

Quite. It sounds like they only got there in the first place because normally astronauts are given half their bodyweight in antibiotics to prevent exactly this from happening. And it did. Except for the drug resistant ones. Question is: wil

I like Dart. I don't like the quantity of asynchrony I have to fight with to use it, but that's a "modern world" thing and there's little I can do about it. But picking up dart from a C++/Python/Objective-

> we have Microcontrollers running at 600MHz+ The RP2040 has little tiny processors dedicated to bit banging. I think at this point the only thing you need FPGA's for is mega bandwidth stuff.

Backblaze have written many blog posts on how they go from a few thousand hard drives to a business. For me, the most interesting part was they went from six generations of self designed storage pods to "fuck it, just buy Dell". L

I'm not Pharma industry expert but ... I'm pretty sure it's much the same as venture capital. That is to say that's it's not that expensive to R&D it, certainly compared to the eventual sale price, but it'

AI accelerator? Really? I thought AI acceleration in this day and age meant more than multiplying two matrices together. If not, what's CUDA all about?

So it loads and boots in ... one ... disk command? Under a millisecond, all up? On actual physical hardware it may well have booted before the power switch makes it all the way back up. Outrageous.

I had no idea that laser downlinks were even remotely possible from a cubesat - that's really kinda astonishing. Regarding the other high bandwidth stuff I imagined that "a communication satellite" was more or less a life sup
