Although eventually I imagine self driving cars will be able to go considerably faster than human driven cars in lots of places.

Ever since Apple started making their phones big I've wanted a smaller one. I never bought a mini because it has a worse camera and that's more important to me.

When a sponsored segment comes in there will be a "Skip Ahead" button that pops up. Sometimes it doesn't seem to pop up until I personally try and skip ahead by tapping the -> key on my keyboard.

YouTube Premium has recently added a skip button for sponsored segments. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but it works pretty well.

Are there serious environment risks with fusion reactors? My understanding was that very little radioactive waste was created from a fusion reactor and what little there is will decay pretty quickly (decades).

I wonder what the author is doing with those 2 extra hours of time he's not using his phone. I use my phone a lot, but I never feel like it's taking away from me doing anything else.

Before getting a squatty potty I would lean over and it seemed to help. The stool does seem to help a little bit more and it's more comfortable.

I grew with the game blooperball but nobody ever seemed to know what it was. I had no idea it was a name specific to Bay City, Michigan. Also strange to see my hometown pop up on Hacker News.

Who did you hear the it slowed development from? My personal experience (and I think the experience of many who do it full time) is that it makes things faster.

That number sounds impossible but I guess there must be some people that throw away a lot more clothes than I do. I'm not sure I even own 80lbs of clothes.

Interesting. I feel like the majority of toilets (in my US city) have both buttons and it's been that way for almost a decade. The only time they don't is when it's a toilet that's over 10 years old. I could be wrong, es

Tudum has some personalization so I'm not sure it's just a static blog site. I can't say whether or not it's complicated enough to justify this level of engineering. It could just be some engineers building something c

Interestingly I would describe "tofu, cheese, and whey/plant/collagen protein powders" as ultra-processed foods simply because they use take a lot of processing to make.

There's an app called Rattlegram that will convert data into audio that you can then send over a walkie talkie. I wish the hardware was included directly in the phone. It would be super useful for outdoor activities where there's

I've had much better luck with GitHub than GitLab and whatever Atlassian is calling their source control these days. Still sounds like good advice though.

The person you're responding to was bringing one change of clothes in their backpack. Presumably they can always store it under the seat in that case. I usually just bring a backpack small enough to fit under the seat as well. Depend

This is how I use TODO as well. If it shows up in a pull request, it should be a red flag that the work isn't done.

This gives me an idea for a source control/task task tracking system where TODOs in code get automatically turned into tickets in your tracker, and then removed from your code automatically. That way you don't fill your code with

I think it just depends on the context you're talking about. Air gapped just means there's no connection between two things so it could be talking about networks or individual computers.

The US public library system is very big. There are over 17,000 libraries and that doesn't include the almost 100,000 libraries that are in schools. My city (Seattle, a pretty large US city) has 27 public libraries. I only live a few b
