Wouldn't a TeX engine written in Ecmascript make more sense? A Web2JS of sorts maybe... Though I'm more inclined towards using XeTeX since it solves a lot of problems without gluing a whole new language (LuaTex anyone?) in there.

Seems to compile fine under x64 Linux and a Plan 9 Qemu VM. Regarding the ARM, I failed to compile it on 9pi (Plan 9 for the Raspberry Pi) though I think it should be fine in Raspbian. It's possible you'll want to pull from tip to
