Not just that, but being socialized to have women enforce their own status as second class citizens in a variety of ways. In some fashion, this is what the "Tradwife" movement is about. Example: I recall my grandmother opining t

I like the graphics horsepower of my PS5, but a lot of the games I play, I'm just not sure I would notice the difference between it and my old PS4. Resolution is the biggest thing, since I didn't have a PS4 Pro and it'd be l

I guess Bing has an 8% market share, if you don't count services that use the Bing index (like DuckDuckGo does). I wonder if Bing is worth it for them to still operate because of the people paying to use the index.

I enjoy how Bing Maps (and Bing in general) are so unloved that it's not even part of the debate. (Bing Maps hasn't changed - yet - but probably will eventually, since they caved on the Gulf of Mexico)

I recently have been trying out frontier models on writing. Just for laughs, to bring an idea I have into the world acting more as director than author. I have a multi agent setup and am getting different models to argue about rating the

For some reason Salzburg had so little car traffic during the day it was eerily silent. People using their inside voices outside to talk to each other. We visited on a weekday, so that may have been why.

No. I think the AI companies are doing this when they think they can tell a story about doom and gloom instead of sloppy engineering, which I thought was clear on. There's no such thing as bad publicity in AI, at least if you spin the

I am not uniquely skeptical about OpenAI. I was including skepticism about Anthropic as well in my post. But for that matter, I do believe that big tech companies do not release all the postmortems publicly. I have been impacted by region

It feels like we're in a moment of, "No such thing as bad publicity" when it comes to AI. The scarier the capabilities, the more businesses and government want to get their hands on them. Especially since the answer across

I have tried it a couple of times. For muscle tightness, there is some science behind why it works (and indeed this worked for me). Did it work better than a very painful massage session? No. But it was a lot less painful!

Dynamite fishing used to be prevalant in the US, based on how widely it is banned. It is explicitly banned in fishing regulations in every state I looked at. There have been jokes and redneck dynamite fishing for decades.

That is a number that gets quoted, but I just ran the latest numbers for my local city. A couple of dozen planned data centers, with an estimated combined use of 160k gallons per day. Apparently the average household uses 300 gallons a day,

Most of those partisans have no idea what other sources of water consumption are by magnitude. They seem to quote any number as if it is a lot. A billion gallons is a lot. 500000 gallons is not a lot.
