I think you make an important point, but I'm not sure the post takes any particular focus on visual representation other than a graph is generally an easier way to intuit what a derivative is. His repeated use of the word concept suggests

If you go looking it isn't too difficult to find material like this. Many of the posters hear have jumped in with their favorite resources. But, where do you all go when you want to ask potentially dumb questions as you would an instructor

I try to avoid sarcasm in comments. It seems like one is packing more meaning into a short comment, but without knowing a person or body language the comment is often unclear. Here I think you meant your comment as a final unavoidable contr

I challenge you to come up with a punishment that would work not just to keep kids in their seats, but also to get them to buckle their belts. At six kids per year I'm against punishing kids for being kids. I imagine there is some other

I find your second paragraph unsettling and it took me a while to see why. It's because, I believe, your premise is (mostly) wrong. The advertisement is effective because the culture does not condone destruction of perfectly good gadget

It's interesting for me to hear you describe this as I understand Texas is trying something similar with a program called Avid. My best friend is tutoring, er, facilitating for a smaller district. She tells me it's hard. You have the norma

Intuition and rationality are reflexive. At all times one informs the other. Some people prefer to lead or focus on rationality, where their rational mind trains their intuition, and some lead or focus on their intuition, where their intu

This is really good, though I don't know what will stay with me. It's probably just good for people to see such a strong communicator talk about why statistics matters.

Wow, that's a very good talk. He's a bit of a bleeding heart, but in such a way, that it's clear to me he couldn't be as effective as he is if he wasn't. There is also a lot of implication on what makes a good talk here. Thanks.
