There's no shame in it but that doesn't mean that it's the best or most efficient way of doing things. I've found that stepping through code in a debugger at a human pace, and getting to really understand what's hap

The GCs used in go or crystal tend not to eat memory more than 10% more than the peak memory of a c implementation. The perception of GC == hundreds of MBs of memory usage comes from java, where the GC aggressively preallocates, and has the

Just to add another data point, I've seen crystal do over 100k requests per second on a single desktop core.

Just to add on that breaking changes are always compile errors, with a nice description of what you need to do to fix it, which makes the breaking changes a lot more manageable.

The plan is to support windows before 1.0, although the core devs are reluctant to "open up" to the large amount of developers windows support would bring before they are finished making breaking changes.

That is assuming that you don't want your music available offline and you have enough data allowance. Which is not true for many people.

High score! In all my filesystem I get about 150,000 files with a colon in their name. Many of them are part of the filesystems of containers which seem to use colons in the names of their libraries and dpkg packages. Many archlinux package

Yes. The one thing I miss from Java development the most is debugging code from IntelliJ IDEA. Its just a fantastic experience to be able to step through line by line and see what's really going on, where it branches on each iteration

ZFS has been around and stable on Linux for years, I doubt it's going to be the next big thing. It's usefulness is pretty limited for VMs. Btrfs on vms is at least useful for docker.

What I am most excited about is manipulating these using javascript, which is also something you cannot do with a CSS processor because the values are baked into the CSS.

Keep in mind that the signal from the satellite will be polarised, and that the polarisation will change as the satellite moves through the sky. To get the best results you will need to rotate your yagi to find the best polarisation.

No, these satellites only send out the line of pixels directly below them. For example if the satellite is moving south, your image is rendered from the top down, but from the bottom up if the satellite is northbound. These satellites are v

Mojang have been promising this for years, nothing has ever happened and I doubt any modding api they release will have the flexibility to edit the base game that MinecraftForge has.

I disagree with it being difficult to get a mod started, you simply download the mdk (like a mod template) and follow the instructions on the readme. I'm not sure, but they might even have a git ignore in the mdk these days. Edit: In a

No, IPFS uses a distributed hash table to find content and nodes on the network. The only centralised servers are the gateways between the regular Internet and IPFS, due to necessity. However it is possible to run your own gateway, and many
