I tried out Windows 10. I lasted 5 days, I think. I signed in to a Microsoft account, and the password on my PC was changed without my permission. That password was only saved in Lastpass. It's 16 digits of random characters. I eventua

This is the same for me. I've also learned how to recognize an album that I WILL like after more listening, which feels really weird, but it works. Also, very catchy albums that immediately grab me rarely prove to have long-term listen

I understand this tactic but an astute person realizes immediately what you're up to, and it can cause the opposite effect. You need to understand the person you're talking to.

When my shoulders and neck are tense after a long day at work, I get a very obnoxious, loud pulsing in my right ear. It took me a long time to figure out that this is related to muscle tension.

This is good advice. I stopped trying to go above and beyond at work. Now, the rest of my time is spent doing projects I really care about. Since then, I: - Self-published an art book - Started a band - Started building a few software proje

I had a similar crisis recently. I was feeling really incompetent. I realized that there are other things in my life that are important to me that I've been neglecting. Side projects, music, what have you. Work is just work, and I allo

I think it's a pretty cool idea. We could throw together a git repo and share it around.

I'm in love with my Honda, it's a 2000 though. I intend to keep it as long as possible, newer cars just don't "feel" right to me.

That's why I still drive my 2000 Integra. It's not without a computer, but it's mostly mechanical. I can fix nearly everything myself, and I do. It still gets decent mileage, it's incredibly reliable, and parts are relat

This happened to me as well. My grandmother called my dad because she believe I was in jail and I needed money to get out. She was completely distraught and even after I talked to her, she wasn't convinced that I was safe. It was prett

I use quite a few index cards as well. I recently outlined an ebook I'm writing, a card to each section. I'll use them to physically map out the flow of products as well - use a card for each feature/ button and move them aro

I have a notebook that I keep various important thoughts in. It's only semi-organized, and it's not dedicated to a specific project, but many project notes are kept in it. I think this is a habit that I retained from my time in th

I think your response gets at part of what I wanted to say, but couldn't think of how to say at the time. War is not in the interest of those who fight it, most of the time.

I disagree that bravery and gallantry are qualities of war - they're human qualities that war sometimes reveals. A man's bravery doesn't lend nobility to war, in my opinion. I generally see war as exploitative. I can see wher

Thanks for answering. I live in a very low-cost area in the midwest. I have a pretty stable situation and most of my debts (other than mortgage) are completely paid off. As far as projects go, I've been looking into tiny projects that

I think the author's assumption here is out of whack. There is nothing noble about warfare, it doesn't compare to playing an instrument. BTW, I've been to war myself.

Maybe I wasn't clear in my comment. Being in the military is onerous, boring, soul sucking and awful. Being a civilian is much easier. Once you've been in such a crummy situation, nothing can faze you.

I agree with your assessment. I'm running AMD right now and it may not be "as good" as Intel but it is not the bottleneck in my system. I can do everything that I want to do for an affordable price.

I really like your response. I feel out of place on the front end because I'm a minimalist and I tend to keep things very clean and simple. A lot of the time it feels like I'm doing everything wrong.
