Knowing the NSA got to the SIM cards manufacturer master keys, I wouldn't be surprised if they had Intel's key to forge microcode updates...

Good thing Uber was not in the Apple seat about backdooring specific iPhones... We know on which side of ethic they are... I'm happy that, at least in Montreal, we have Téo as a more legit alternative.

So, no Android phones is not very pragmatic... Any justifications? (Especially without saying to use only FOSS OS)

This whole question is missing philosophical context. Maybe not now, but once we all get automated, what is the goal we're trying to reach? Where are we going with this?

It's frustrating to see so much energy wasted in fragmenting health coverage solutions in the US. This makes it so costly, that it _looks_ like it's too expensive or inefficient, making right wing politicians justify the fact that

You might want to look at this lightning talk from 33c3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5uqQL-dKBU&feature=youtu.be... We really need to standardize VR drivers with a hardware class that needs to support, in a standar

My use case is one where I have servers in different datacenters and would want to have a simple, but secure, way to fetch metrics for graphing and alerts. So, I meant encryption in transport, authentication, etc. as many solutions work wel

It'd be nice if this meant being able to use Grafana as a frontend to alertmanager. (Writing those "ALERT ..." requires a steep learning curve.)

The whole planet is descending into fascism, put in place by the old generation who doesn't understand technology while the new one is too busy inventing the next toilet sharing app. I guess everyone will enjoy this last century...

Yeah, like many, they pretend they're doing FOSS while dropping the (F)reedom part. GPLv3 is about stopping TIVO-isation, but TIVO tactics is what Apple specializes in. Locking people in with other people's (F)ree software. The s

My concern is that while running consul as a single docker container, it will completely get stuck in a follower state even though it's the only node in the cluster if the IP chnages on restart. It is waiting for the previous IP, who w

So a single node Consul cluster, when rejoining itself with a custom ID, would end up a leader of "itself" and not wait for the previous IP as a follower, forever? :) Which option would that be for a server config? https:/&#

I'm no consul expert, but their only problem i've seen right now is the fact that ID is bound to an IP and that this IP is taken from the first network interface. I hope they can move to GUIDs or some other solution soon and facil
