http://www.google.com/patents?vid=6064978 IANAL, but it appears that simply having a "question and answer" site doesn't apply to this patent. If you read the patent, it's mostly related to the idea of asking a question costs points and gi

What about incumbent subscription services? For example, Hulu requires you to be paying $8/mo to view their shows on an iPhone or iPad. Since a subscription is required, MUST they be required to Apple's subscription service, or can they jus

The fact that "the Coke formula is secret" is a marketing tool itself. I've seen a few ads along the line of "only two guys know the Coke formula and they each only know half." (Which I'm betting isn't true, since that makes Coke a bus fact

When you want to use 1.9. You should really only be using the 1.8 branch if time or money prevent you from doing the upgrade.

I've actually had worse customer support with GC (who froze our account with 30k with no support phone line to call) than Paypal (their phone lines are up until 11pm PT).

Not to white knight Paypal, but selling tickets is a highly fraud risky payment event (opposed to just selling stuff). It has a high number of chargebacks due to possible event cancellation, people not showing up, or people just not liking

Actually, they have been making quite a bit of money in the sale of public tweets. Wholesale data with their "Firehose", 50% and 5% of all tweets stream is not cheap if that's what you want.

I wouldn't be surprised if the iPad got a slight bump to 1280x960 just to fill out the "720p HD" spec though.

To be fair, you can easily carry around 2 TB in a single large-form external. Coupled with a general car to wall AC adaptor, you can travel around town with it. Not to mention the fact that since it's just a simple look-up table with lots o

Maybe it's our own experience, but the "nifty stuff" is quite limiting. We've been trying to get combo pack support (ala Amazon's buy this + that together and get $5 off), and it's been a total NIGHTMARE. For a basic general cart, it's grea

Not to be a buzz kill, but I think that's the first thing that will be carrier disabled. The downside to Android's openness is that carriers are open to disable features that they don't like. And they certainly have been pushing against "du
