Those are not mutually exclusive, you can specify a starting date one year ahead of signing the offer, if the company is not in a hurry. At least where I live. Then you have bargaining power and vacation at the same time.

I don't. I work for a company where we always try to track the latest stable version of Python. Right now we are on 3.11, and unfortunately Pypy is lagging behind.

Fedora (and I think all the RHEL family) comes with SE Linux by default. Although I'm not that familiar with it (I tend to disable it more often than not) it seems to me like it's addressing precisely that.
