The Vim extension in VSCode is very clumsy for many things, not to mention the lags and the slowness (which defeats the purpose of using Vim keybindings) that's what drove me back, but I keep an eye on Onivim[0] which aims to be VSCode

For markdown I don't use/need a plugin, with entr[0] and Pandoc you can emulate the live preview feature easily, without even needing a browser. 0: http://eradman.com/entrproject/

I really like the idea, maybe this can make me back to GNOME, but it seems to me it lacks an absolutely vital feature of i3/Sway: the scratchpad[0], I always have an Emacs buffer opened to my org folder, and the scratchpad is very hand

For this I use autojump[0], what I really like is the integration with ranger FM[1]. I don't know exactly how ncd works, but with autojump you need to visit the directory at least one time to be able to fuzzy-jump. 0: https:/

I always tried to use the shell with emacs (eshell, multi-term) but it didn't render correctly curses and all the fancy stuffs like emojis. Out of curiosity, how do you manage that?

Was about to point this out, but it's good to know if you ssh in a box which doesn't have Python installed. Edit: Or use a more portable terminal FM, nnn pops to my mind
