Damn, wish I could go back and edit this post to make it more clear. I am talking about BUSINESS here: meetings with VC, clients, etc. Not actual dating. I repeat, not actual dating. When it comes to dating, stick to ONE GIRL AT A TIME. But

Mechanical_fish asked the right question: What do you want to build? Once you know what you can get passionate about, figure out what people commonly use to build apps in that arena. Some suggestions: Rich media websites? Flash/Actionscript

Hi Davidw, Thanks for your interest and questions. For now, Nitrogen is primarily aiming to bring Erlang up to par with other languages for creating dynamic, Ajax-ified Web 2.0 applications. "What does it really do that takes advantage of E

Colin - Excellent, excellent post. This is exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. Definitely pushes me in the direction of a Blackberry. Thanks!

That's my top choice so far, but it's for emotional reasons more than anything. :) Can you elaborate on your reasons for suggesting the iPhone?

Woah! Joe Armstrong, the inventor of Erlang, just sent me an email asking about Nitrogen (the Erlang web framework featured in the demo above.) As I said to my wife, "I feel like a teenage girl at a Jonas Brothers concert."

I grew up on a farm--feeding cows, moving hay, clearing fields, etc. (There are many great stories.) and am now, as a "technopreneur", on the exact other end of the spectrum. Even though I sometimes refer to my work as "moving electrons", I

Unfortunately, I think you missed your window. Apple dropped from ~180 to ~90 in the past month and a half. (It's been up a little over the past two days.) If I weren't worried about completely un-diversifying my portfolio, I'd buy more now

Stitcho is basically "Growl for the Web", but NOT in the sense of being another Javascript-to-Growl bridge (a few of those exist out there, protoGrowl, Growl mootools, etc.) Rather, Stitcho lets you send notifications from server side code
