It's not a "simplified model". The jujutsu model is more capable, but also more generic and thus easier to use and re-use. It's just better.

Sorry, I meant oh-my-zsh. I know that the core shell doesn't update. I still think it's bad. You shouldn't rely on a million different package managers, just 1 is enough. (2 if you are feeling spicy: Flatpak)

Yes, this is indeed a problem. I'd love systemd running on OpenBSD/others, and wouldn't need to create a new init system if it did. There needs to be one cross platform one that's capable.
