I disagree that no one wants to work - in many ways, working (being of use), is enobeling. What will replace it culturally when we don't have any work?

Self driving machine code is inherently unsafe, as we don't have observability for the neural networks that run the most advanced models. The safety critical portion of the code focuses around running the base functions of the car. On

We're all better off? That's an incredibly broad statement. The laws on the books still exist for a good reason. Even if you feel that Uber is somehow exempt/makes good choices with the people it chooses to employ via the pla

Make the robots like the Kiva bots and have a liftable platform. That way, they only need to support the weight of the furniture, not the people.

We make up for hand weakness with hand dexterity, slow vision processing with incredibly rich feature sets and powerful cameras, and reliable actions with previsioning and prediction on every task. The human system is pretty incredible.

What is scope for Uber-likes? What is network? They're simply leveraging a brand - it is almost no moat versus a competitor, especially if they have a structural advantage. An example advantage would be an autonomous car manufacturer e

Sports cars don't determine the trajectory of your life. Also, farming is heavily automated and done by very few hands outside of truck crops. Farming truck crops is low wage, incredibly difficult work that we generally use illegal lab

Being richer doesn't correspond to having more potential. For every rich person in college (top 1% of pop), there's a cohort of roughly 30x that would do as well or better.

It is interesting to see the strongly negative positions that some people take on any of these reports. It is almost like folks can have ulterior motives or know very little about how to protect sources and methods.

Even outside of the good points made by argonaut - our eyes are _amazing_ cameras. They are super high resolution, have many color bits, and work well in low light and bright situations.

Up until the last Parker patriarch gave half the ranch to his workers, it was the third largest producer in the US. Now it's fifth, IIRC. Also interesting, the paniolos were the first US cowboys AND they have unique rodeo sports (inclu
