It's a little bit different from the other resources I've linked, but "Elements of Programming" [0] is another excellent (though incredibly challenging) read. It's written by Alexander Stepanov, and basically walks

You'd likely be more interested in the original paper [0] by John Hughes that Wadler built off of. It gets into a ton more detail about the algebraic structure of the documents they're defining: > The question addressed in this

Philip Wadler has a seminal paper [0] on implementing pretty printers by modeling them using an algebra. There's implementations of the algorithm in most programming languages nowadays, and some state of the art advances that help with

I don't know what Jane Street does, and can't speak for them. That being said, I've heard of some firms using the JVM that just tune things such that the garbage collector will never trigger, and then they restart the VM ever

I just typed "Aeron" into Craig's List and chose a seller. I think they delivered out of San Mateo. The going rate seemed to be $300 - $400 depending on whether you needed delivery or not.

You're completely right; I accidentally dropped the word "higher-kinded" in front of polymorphism. Go's interfaces provide structural typing, which offers polymorphism over values. Typeclasses in comparison, offer polymo
