I watch this YouTube channel "Watch Wes Work" which is a dude that runs his own auto repair service in the frozen wasteland that is Illinois. After seeing him work on older rusty vehicles, I have the desire to see one of them get

Of course it's not new. This sort of thing was very well described by Umberto Eco in his list of qualities of what he calls “Ur-Fascism". https://www.openculture.com/2016/11/umberto-eco-makes-a-list...

I do not believe it is fair to characterise the moderation of stories related to Elon Musk and Twitter as "being suppressed". There are currently dozens upon dozens of submissions about Musk & Twitter, most of which are eithe

My understanding is that most of this went to his own organisation which is seemingly a faux-charity. If that's correct seems like something he might have learned from Donald Trump.

It's the one I ripped out of my Logitech Squeezebox Boom when the display finally died back in 2011 or so. It's less than 10 minutes long and is designed such that the point where the loop restarts is not noticeable.

Yeah, I have Ménière's, so I also have tinnitus. An important part of my own habituation is that I quit paying attention to all pop science news about it, including upcoming treatments, prosthetics, and clinical trials. If at some futu

We keep reading about big tech firms being fined for regulation violations but it seems like they just treat it as a cost of doing business and keep doing whatever it they want. Perhaps it's time to start significantly raising those f
