I assume this is because of Musk's love of crypto and his expected high position in Trump's new government, compared to the Democrats who wanted to regulate cryptocurrencies like any other security.

In my experience, it's rarely the serving language that causes the hellscape of spaghetti. Possibly the SQL if you've got one of those weird luddites who wants all the business in stored procs running the project. It's the

This is what bothers me with MS SQL related tools - they all seem horrendously brittle. Everything seems prone to deadlocks, has weird edge-cases, and incomplete coverage of the API of the next tool they're talking to so you keep havi

I know it would be political suicide, but I do believe that we could still have a very good medical system if the level of education we demand of doctors was reserved for surgeons and leadership and the front-line work of GP-style treatment

In my experience it works pretty well under progressive governments that are willing to do the necessary tax-and-spend approach to make it work. Alberta's government is radically conservative, far beyond moderate pro-business conservat

I'm still bewildered that Sony abandoned the portable industry when they were uniquely positioned with the fact that they also had a phone line. The Xperia Play was too early but I'm pretty confident that now that you've got

Yes, it's a trivial example. I'm not looking to support it, I'm looking to catch it at compile-time. if "Person.FirstName" is a string, then that encourages users to use string-operations against it, which will fai

My problem with this approach is that this falls apart if you write: db.Select<Person>(x => Regex.IsMatch(x.FirstName, "^A.*")); This would fail at run-time instead of compile-time. That's why I'd rathe

Having used it since its inception, I've come to the conclusion that the SQL translator is kind of a misfeature. It creates so many weird bugs and edge-cases and tedium. I love LINQ, I love having a typesafe ORM as a standard feature

You'd need to have it be host specific. Stack overflow? You're researching a problem and still might be elbows deep in a problem. Bluesky or FB? Not so much.

Honestly, as much as I loathe Musk, I'm genuinely disappointed this didn't pan out. Lidarless autonomous driving would've been an amazing leap in driving tech, and cameras are so cheap that companies would've been crazy

Of course, I just mean if you've got one internal.productname.com or .local or whatever, the problem is not having one domain for each branch. Like, the public product is www.productname.com, and the internal site is dev.productname.

Imho this is a problem with many DevOps pipelines - we use Azure DevOps and the inability to run the Azure pipeline yaml files locally means I end up just writing all our deployment as PowerShell scripts and the DO pipeline just calls them.

C# did this for extension methods and it Just Works. You just add the "this" keyword to a function in a pure-static class and you get method-like calling on the first param of that function.
