Why would one want to run eslint through an LSP? Using flymake it call the CLI works just fine and is more direct.

Because many inputs map to that hash (the hashing function is surjective instead of bijective). People re-use passwords all the time. If the hash leaks it will only affect the particular service.

The Unix CLI is most definitely a REPL. But it is a system-level REPL. So instead of running functions you run programs. You can't interactively develop a program in the UNIX CLI. Especially not in Python, JS, Ruby, etc. You can try to

Several Common Lisp implementations do it, ej. SBCL. Why do you think interactivity is opposed to compilation? I'm not too familiar with Julia but afaik it compiles the forms entered in the REPL as well.
