Exactly this. The most astounding difference between MP3 and FLAC I've ever heard was Teen Spirit by Nirvana. In the opening riff there's just such a huge difference in depth and clarity. On the MP3 everything sounds flat and life

Yeah, that's like design 101. One thing I really like about the default Android UI is that it's mainly black/gray with blue, which makes it easy on the eyes and nice to look at in various environments (at night, for example).

It's disgusting how people will blatantly steal "every day" items and think nothing of it. I've played soccer for a decade, and I've lost countless soccer balls because people will literally pick up a stray ball and walk away with it. I alw

It just happened to be a good time to switch, to be honest. I've migrated from Openbox to Awesome WM in the past few days, and I needed a good editor with features like syntax highlighting, line numbers and great community themes as I learn

I switched from nano to vim a few hours ago. When I first installed Arch Linux all those months ago I was intimidated when I was presented with the choice between nano, the default, and vim, "for experts only." When I used vim for the first

Interesting. I'm currently running Arch Linux on my Acer Aspire One 722-BZ197. When I try and watch HD and fullscreen videos on YouTube that screen tears and the audio and video get out of sync, but when I use toogl I'm able to watch in 720

As a long time Ubuntu user the new "Software Center" is a huge disappointment. Just browsing it is enough to freeze and sometimes crash my computer; Installing packages is difficult and the UI is slow and unresponsive. Unity also frequently

Unnecessary (and intrusive) features being piled onto an already bloated OS is the reason I, a former Ubuntu fanboy, installed Arch Linux a few months ago: Now I know exactly what's installed on my system and exactly how my system runs and

I spend most of my day in the library at my school (it's the only place I can study between classes.) Even though it's a "library," the administrators don't enforce any of the noise rules, and it's (ironically) one of the noisiest places on

I've been a Ubuntu fanboy for years. When my old desktop running XP completely failed, my older brother installed Ubuntu on it and I fell in love with it. A few months ago I did a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04 on my netbook that had previou

> Aside from it being the most counter-productive form of communication ever That's a ridiculous statement. Some people can better articulate their thoughts if they speak it out loud, and some people can better articulate their thoughts

As a writer I also prefer to communicate by email. I used to be very socially awkward and introverted (and still am), but knowing how to communicate in a wide variety of situations, whether it be by text, email, phone or in person is an ext

If you're really hardcore about canceling noise I would recommend buying a pair of actual earmuffs, not headphones, and wearing those over a pair of earbuds. It's what StarCraft 2 pro gamers do to ensure they can think and concentrate when

I might be a little biased considering I own one, but many people find the click clack sound produced by a keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches to be quite relaxing.

I feel the exact same way. I wear a pair of noise canceling headphones and listen to music so I can block out all of the noise produced by other people. What I found a few days ago, however, was that I had a very, very difficult time concen
