I don't think I did. It wasn't the doctor I was referring to. Medical software needs to be developed, but it doesn't seem likely that the people developing it will be the people who use it.

There does come a point when this ceases to be realistic. It's unlikely, for instance, that a doctor is going to develop software to use in his office himself (especially with HIPA regulations!)

$18 for the stencil + $8 for the pad... $26 could make your day. What are you waiting for?

Yes, but part of the draw of software in general is that one vendor can theoretically serve the entire market, whereas a car dealership can only serve a given area.

It's only $8... why not just buy it? Even if you never use it, you're not out much.

In a sense, global variables and mutable state are much the same. Even if the scope of the mutable variable is local, if it maintains state beyond any specific call, it has a global lifespan. I think using mutable variables within a funct

Hell of a poem there by Kipling. Thanks for the link above as well... that would certainly be a tough blow

Screw pop psychology... I read something one day, and less than a year later, I read the opposite. This has happened so many times that I feel like I actually know less now than I did in the first place.

Perhaps they shouldn't, but those lists shouldn't be immediately visible from their profile. I don't think anyone wants to have "Giant Douchebags" listed on their lists page.

Does it matter? Does the article stand on it's own?

Because it doesn't relate to the article. Who cares if he has a TV? This is about saving money watching TV by buying shows directly, rather than paying the general fee.

You realize that DFW was primarily a fiction writer, yes? Sure we all like A Supposedly Fun Thing I'd Never Do Again, but Infinite Jest was his Magnum Opus, and was fiction.

So essentially advertising is parasitic? Perhaps it is, in a way, but without it your chance of getting noticed is slim to none. In other words, success is parasitic.
