But it doesn't use GTK widgets, it just uses GTK to make a window. That said GTK on Windows and macOS is very meh. You don't choose GTK for making a cross platform app.

Even on a Linux desktop OS with a single user, it's still a security risk as it skips over a last line of defence. If a Chrome bug is found that allows web pages to arbitrary code execution, it can be chained with an exploit like this

I wonder what lawyer at Apple thought that the EU would not investigate Apple's malicious compliance, or Apple has done this to see how far the EU will go. This isn't US legislation where you can find loopholes, EU legislation pro

Microsoft didn't really have much to change on Windows outside of restoring the ability to uninstall system apps in the EEA and turning things off, and making users aware of such ability. They don't control distribution of softwar

Not really a Caveat, if it only had an Deb you could argue it doesn't work on non-Ubuntu/Debian, which is far bigger caveat.

Due to financing options like Klarna, keeping on monthly prepaid sim-only plans (which are cheap) and using a finance option to purchase the device outright has become much more popular at least in my circle in the UK.

I think they should allow unsigned apps to run in a similar way to developer mode on the Xbox. You can enable unsigned apps, but you'll loose Apple services (e.g. iMessage). This should be enough to convince normal users not to do it,

It's far easier to find things above ground then it is below it in the ocean. Radar etc just doesn't penetrate liquid. I think we have a better map of the moon than the ocean floor.

I don't really see it as prioritising your own browser. It's a system level feature and uses the system provided web engine. Microsoft doesn't let you swap out EdgeHTML or Trident for applications that use the native OS web f

The userland GL/Vulkan driver is still the same closed blob. In the kernel driver the difference between the open and closed, is that the open driver has ripped out a chunk of its functionality that on newer nvidia GPUs has been moved

Wine/Proton is not an emulator, it doesn't emulate a console nor architecture. Yuzu does emulate both an architecture (ARM on x86) and the console. It then requires dumped games and and system firmware to run, which are not freely

Docker and systemd aren't exactly good friends, this is partially why Red Hat created Podman. Podmans integration with systemd is much greater, especially when you use quadlets (systemd controlled podman containers).
