When I tried it (earlier this year), it wasn't quite like RVM. RVM is very versatile, powerful and polished. Perlbrew is getting there, but seems good only for particular limited ranges of use. Things I got used to with RVM weren't ready

I did Comp Sci at a major Canadian university. I used OSAP or a bank loan for each year of study. I've never put in a lump sum. Paying only regular monthly payments got me finishing maybe 10 or 11 years after graduation.

In my opinion, nothing should pop up without explicit user action (keypress, mouse click). Every would-be pop-up should be pop-under, with some cue (visual or otherwise) to inform the user that something may deserve attention (e.g. flashin

I have been using DuckDuckGo as my default search engine for a few months now, after having given it a second chance. At this rate, I find the result sets good enough that I only turn to Google for maybe 1 in 40 searches. The number one re

I find that extremely hard to believe. Do you have some very anomalous usage patterns, such as never using that address to register on websites, and never having it posted anywhere spider-crawlable on the Internet? I'd wager that an addr

My regrets in life are extremely few, but one of them is this: If I could go back in time and do things differently, one thing I would change would be my attitude about debt when I was young[er]. My kids are growing up, but the months are

Although it usually only matters when compared code scores similarly, it is important to be able to know when benchmark comparisons are statistically significant [1]. I wrote a library[2] a while back to do this. This becomes even more o

I've come to conclude that I am alone in the world in this respect: I deliberately do not listen to music when coding (or studying) because I find it way too distracting. I end up listening to the music; enjoying it; analysing it. I would

Cool. A couple suggestions: When you get your result, make the name clickable, and go to some sensible place, like a Wikipedia page, or such. Also, to be able to see a listing of all possible names, and perhaps a few stats (how many peopl
