Aha. Couldn't help but scratch my own itch. I wonder if DDG has a deal with Google where they get a cut of the ad profit if they are mentioned as a `ref` in the doubleclick ad request. :path: /pagead/viewthroughconversion

Aha. This makes a lot of sense for Google. But the same websites show up in e.g. DDG (through Bing), as far as I know neither DDG nor Microsoft make a dime from ad-supported websites like Google would, why are these results not nuked simila

I think this could serve a good rule-of-thumb test. Whatever measure is being taken, would it stop (or have stopped) Prince Andrew (and similar)? If not, the measure is at best ineffective and at worst not intended to stop them. We can call

So, I've heard it said in another topic on `Topics` that a single list of topics, as far as it is an identifier for a specific person, is far less accurate than a tracking cookie (or similar technology). Well, yes, maybe that is the ca

Just to say: the search engine frog has long been boilt and it is amazing what crap people have to put up with when searching for anything. How jarring the experience of seeing TV commercials is after years of Kodi, is how the experience is

There is a problem with "overlapping" conditions. If multiple conditions in a elif statement would evaluate to true, then the first of these conditions is chosen. For this dictionary approach, the last occurrence of `True` as a ke

For the window management, a big shoutout to `magnet` (for snapping windows) and `AltTab` (for sane alt tabbing).. for making the management much less frustrating (although not completely fixed). The "windows should be grouped in terms

Ah yes, fair point. It makes it a bit more subtle, in that the cases where you have to worry about integer overflows on the pointer addition, are cases where you have an array of 2^((64 or 32) - 1) bools... which seems rather silly to do a

Left and right are both usizes, which are 64-bit pointers. You will need work on an array of 2^63 elements before you have to worry about integer overflow issues. This array would not fit in any kind of memory for the foreseeable future :)

w3schools is a for-profit company that survives on its schooling business. Its incentives are mis-aligned with mine: When I search for information on something web-dev related, I want it to be short & to the point. For w3schools, to max
