No thanks. If I don’t control the hardware and the OS, that means I can’t use mods. But with the absolutely disastrous states games are released in nowadays, those are absolutely necessary. The input latency is a secondary issue.

The average mobile user has only one thumb and every gesture that isn't a simple swipe causes them unimaginable agony. Thus, the infinite scroll is the only appropriate navigation mechanism.

Oh boy. The things the security people do to justify their existence. The future may be your actual traffic through ssh tunneled through https with esni to a server behind Cloudflare. Unless you want pseudo security tools to mess with your

Normally, when software doesn't have big changes between releases, like macOS, there's a feature freeze and devs are working on bugfixes. Yet, macOS seems to get buggier and buggier between releases. Something about the way it

That is if the printer manufacturers are willing to support this interface. With how predatory they act otherwise, I don't see them giving up running their own code in the NT kernel.

Desktop linux has finally found a niche where it can actually compete with Windows - gaming - and the first thing distro developers and some users demand is changes that will make it much worse for that purpose. Require more hoops to jump t

I just configured my Router to use AdGuard's DNS over TLS. No additional device needed that you need to maintain, yet all sorts of advertising domains are blocked. Still, that alone is not as effective as an extension that sits in the

I think there's still value in a bootloader. You can easily load an old kernel with an old initramfs if you messed up somehow, or adjust kernel parameters. The boot UI for most modern UEFI-Firmwares is really primitive and they usually

I like it so much that you can just specify dependenies in the script. That's what I hate about python scripts - as soon as you need one third party dependency, the ease of running the script just jumps out of the window and you need t

Anyhow and Eyre seem cool, but completely losing all information about what types of Errors the function returns in favor if what is essentially a trait object of std::error::Error seems... questionable to me. I value type safety a lot.

Apple's idea of "natural scrolling direction" is insane. Scrolling with a touchpad and scrolling with with a mouse wheel are simply different things - the natural direction is simply different for both.

I wonder if a compiler that uses LTO could optimize these vtable calls to the same kind of code the switch statement can be optimized to.

It absolutely shouldn't. Advertisers STILL cite that Microsoft incident as the reason they don't support DNT, even though this happened 8 years ago. Just goes to show how dishonest they are. Ironically they don't ignore DNT -
