Gamers call DirectX 3D 12 "DX12". I've seen "D3D12" mostly used by graphics programmers. I'm not a graphics programmer though

You know you don't have to update it daily?

In Poland we're seeing government slowly taking actions against people owning solar. Turns out, people were paying a lot in taxes for electricity and this money is now not present in the budget. Recent development is an incoming ban on

One thing I absolutely despise is 2 space indentation. Instead of not creating stupid 5+ level deep nesting, people decided to decrease the indentation size. Then everyone uses tab colorizers or those stupid vertical margins in vscode, beca

I've read somewhere, that washing machines need to be run on hotter programs (at least 60°C) from time. This dissolves detergent accumulation on the bearing, slowing it's wear down. Apparently bearing failure is more common with m

People have been running modded firmware and custom computers in their cars for a long time and it seems you haven't even noticed.

Hello, I'm an attacker, do you have any new ideas? (obligatory /s)
134.
by Perz1val 1y ago
What an entitled idea, if you want a guarantee then buy a license. Wanting to hold people accountable for an open source library that you got for free is the same bullshit attitude as google with their hostile developer verification.

I remember apple even made some change that asahi devs were really happy and said "this is for us" (marcan's tweet iirc)
137.
by Perz1val 1y ago
The short answer is that it's just a stupid idea (and a waste of money). Asahi only works somewhat ok on M1.

Yea, cus when I write a fanfic I should show my id to the company that owns the printer I purchased and own, before I print out a copy to give for my friend, ffs. Does that analogy make sense to you?

I don't think it's coming for games. Kids don't play on PC or console, they play on phones. PC games are "sad dad stories" like "the last of us" now.

Name the price and the Chinese factory will make it for that price and turn profit. Want a phone for 10 USD? No problem dear!

I've modded it. The main switches are on separate, one sided PCB's and are easy to solder. Side switches are not standard, they're lower profile. Scroll and DPI switches are on the main PCB with a huge ground pad on one pin,

I highly recommend swapping switches, it's a noticeable upgrade

by Perz1val 1y ago
What broke? You can replace the switches, stock omrons are pretty garbage and it's super common for them to break.
