The patent system is like a bug in a software that all your clients rely upon and will never let you fix. I expect peace in the middle east to happen before the patent system gets scrapped.

The best thing about bitcoin is that it's decentralised and under your control. And what all these companies are trying to do is make it centralised and externalised from the users. Despite such wallets being stolen repeatedly people don't

You can add any item from any store on the Amazon wishlist and people already know to check it if they want to - you don't need to tell them you have a wishlist somewhere else. One fewer awkward email.

I think a 2 million city would be big enough. We can call it an special economic area. I do believe this is already happening. We all know that this is the inevitable cyberpunk future - just substitute governments with corporations.

Shop around for a country to live in. I wish countries were more accommodating about this. In my dream world like minded people live in the same country. Just think of how great it would be if you didn't have to compromise because everyone

They all ask for permission and most people just tick the box. Linkedin lets you do the same thing. People give them their passwords to their email accounts willingly. Looks to me it's a pretty common practice but I'm no expert on social we

Facebook can read emails and address books of your friends who might have your email address and it goes from there. Same thing happened to me. Most poeple on facebook are fine with sharing all their personal data with facebook - and that b

Quite the opposite. All the punctuation is on the right side. I've got a split keyboard and not counting meta keys I count 28 on the left and 32 on the right side.

"Historically, languages designed for other people to use have been bad: Cobol, PL/I, Pascal, Ada, C++. The good languages have been those that were designed for their own creators: C, Perl, Smalltalk, Lisp." Dazzling argumentative prowess.

Google wins every time for me but apparently people choose bing (except of course they don't, as actual usage statistics are quick to point out). Nice idea that is backfiring horribly, showing that google is in fact better, something that I

I'm sure they're just stealing company stationery. The articles doesn't actually mention any examples of this purported white collar crime, unless you count extortion as such.

Seems they lead on XBox, loaded it with extra features and now find it difficult to squeeze it all in for the PS3 version. I'm sure it's doable but it'll probably come down to whether it's cost effective. It's not about size or delivery, it

Except KISMET doesn't scale well. When I see the baroque contraptions game designers create it makes my blood boil at the inefficiency but that's the cost of a faster design->code turnaround. Runtime efficiency sacrificed for developmen

I don't think the audience for this exists. People with a mind capable of programming are also capable of learning syntax, especially since there are so many languages now with lightweight syntax. I fear these attempts shall remain confined
