Performance was also a big problem, they had a lot of issues in the beginning justifying the amount of time it took to encode and especially decode the images. IIRC it was of the 100x the time of JPEG and that meant that at speeds of the ti

I ran an I7 920 at 4Ghz for roughly 2 years at around 1.35V with water cooling (max was 55C on full load on all 4 cores). After the 2 year mark the chip became unstable and over the period of the next 6 months the clock speed it would relia

Many times I have had programming problems that would have usefully been able to use a lot of cores especially with reasonable IO wait on each of the threads of execution. But in order to really have just been able to use this it needs: 1)

We seem to have successfully managed to make HTTP deliver different types of documents with machine targeted formats without too much difficulty. We haven't yet settled on one perfect way to do it but the protocol is flexible enough th

How "true" this statement is (with all its flaws) really depends on the country. If you look at gun ownership over the world as a whole and individual countries we can see that some countries have very high gun ownership, like the

So nothing has really changed then. Its more marketing than substance in the hope that fluffy minimal changes to their policy will restore confidence while the same thing is continuing to happen.

Being one of the backers with a 2x 16 cores on the way I can attest to the fact I wouldn't buy from them again. This is a dishonest company at its heart, its not the delay its the reason why it was delayed and the lies they told about

Up until November 2013 all the news was of technical difficulties in the board causing delays. Repeated redesigns and fixes. However in November 2013 we finally got told the reason why we really didn't have boards, 10 months after the
