Engineers will still exist and people will vibe code all kinds of things into existence. Some will break in spectacular ways, some of those projects will die, some will hire a real engineer to fix things. I cannot see us living in a world o

Will it? Will it really? I’ve been writing JS for so long I’ve forgotten all these language quirks, I feel like it’s fair for most people, these language choices are kind of meaningless in day to day, what’s meaningful is a function returni

This is like saying cars are for doing skids and speeding illegally, then telling the person who drives for a living if they “don’t have a very inflated idea about what a car is”. Vibe coding is letting the AI take the wheel for every decis

You’re making a lot of assumptions about the capability to reconnect and patch/update itself, preface the fix with “keep your machine offline from here in out” and we’re back to fixing it for everyone before that point.

What use is a counterattack if it’s inaccessible, either by another cost or because it’s only known by a few experts? This feels like a net win.

Did anyone ever do a write up on how MS used detect and flag the various dvd drive firmware hacks? It was a huge cat and mouse game, with fw hackers making bold claims like stealth undetectable fw etc. It was a very interesting time.
