I still can't believe how many people don't understand this fact. Javascript is incredibly flexible - if you can think of a programming paradigm - Javascript already supports it.

We're developers, we are both tool makers and tool users. Limiting ourselves to either Chrome or Firefox (or IE or Opera or...) is - well - stupid. Use the tools we have. Use all of them. Make sure your code works everywhere (reasonabl

I would love to see the decision memo where they decoded it was less effort to build HHVM then to rebuild the site from scratch.

Ok - at this point I'm wondering just how much Yahoo thinks it can swallow as a company. Tumblr -by itself - is going to take months to integrate into the Yahoo ecosystem. And now they want Hulu? I'm really wondering if they are biting off

Man, they are on some buying binge. Unfortunately for them, I don't think it's possible to buy innovation or relevance. Those things have to come from within and permeate the entire culture of the firm - and Yahoo just doesn't have it right

It's like they didn't even do customer research. They developed in an echo chamber - and got something that ultimately no one actually likes. I've had my 360 for a long time but I won't be getting a one. Steam box probably for me.

Code is code - it's the concepts behind it that matter. If this is going to paying project then go PHP - it's what you know and you'll be able to get it done faster and probably with higher quality. If this is just a project for your own gr
