I can't argue with that. Southern California has some horrible drivers. Also, we have highways. Lots and lots of highways. Big ones, 6 lanes each way in some places. But SoCal has major deadlock problems during rush hour. The rest of t

Sounds like a confirmation on flag would be a good idea.

I can tell you, having lived my whole life in Modesto, the drivers here are IDIOTS. I once saw a car that careened off a perfectly straight road, 90 degrees, over the sidewalk and into a fence.

Obviously this is true. But what do the easterlymost complain about? The Atlantic?

I honestly don't believe this would be a smart move. 4G LTE is still young and the iPhone has bad enough battery life already.

Nice title change, much better than the racism from before, but I'm afraid my spacebar, being white, is offended. Additionally, my previous opinion ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3296010 ) still stands, that whitespace-significance i

Even Web Programming For Dummies shouldn't suggest that. This is obviously the work of somebody reading a random $5 book from 2001, written by Newbie McRandomDude.

JSON errors are worked around by developers, we don't display an error and kill everything if it doesn't format right, plus it's a lot simpler. XHTML/XML errors are displayed to the user, and the idea of "being strict" is fine for developme

A few independent musicians have noted that they make so little from Spotify (and the users don't get guilted into buying anything on iTunes) that it actually isn't worth it. I think Spotify will slowly lose independent musicians and eventu

Well, it was mostly in jest, yes, but I think it's more than just that, I think it's also that here on the west coast we tend to drive a lot better than people in New York ;)

I dunno, east-coasters seem to have more road rage too. When you get to New York, people are completely and utterly pissed at eachother. Every time I go to Chicago, I notice that drivers all seem to have this underlying urge to kill all p

This seems like a wonderfully pointless gimmick. Plus, last I checked, Spotify is en route to implosion with so many people realizing it's hurting more than piracy is. A very profitable collapse, by the looks of how much they pay out ;)

People seem to worry far too much about the extra 5 seconds they would spend to write HTML versus HAML, when it introduces so many other problems. First of all, there's WAI-ARIA. Try fitting that into HAML or Jade and suddenly it gets a he

I completely agree that HAML and similar things are nothing more than syntactical sugar, and not all that good of sugar either. I personally use Handlebars, a Mustache variant, and have found it to be extremely helpful for cleaning up my te
