You're right that I was a bit short, I apologize. I'm a little touchy about self-diagnoses as I explained above.

I think that most languages don't want the complexity of coroutines, as they are a unfamiliar concept to most programmers. It is a shame that they've never gained popularity as they are very general concept.

Reading this article, I'm reminded of the movement to "design for the other 90%." It is ironic, and also a little sad, that our high tech society thinks that all the developing world needs is more technology. I guess it is ea

As someone with ADD, self-diagnoses is incredibly frustrating. It drives a really unhealthy perception of the disease.

I read your article, and I agree with some of the points. I don't think stimulants are much of a solution either, if I could wake up one day and be "cured" of my ADD that would be fantastic. For me, distraction is a compulsio

How does this compare Metafora ( https://github.com/lytics/metafora )? Is it a slightly different domain?

I'm always eager to read these progress reports. It is amazing how interesting it is to read about the kind of bugs they face, and how they were diagnosed and fixed. Can anyone recommend other open source projects that do this sort of

I never said you should be building 10,000 line apps in python, nor passed any value judgment. All I was implying is that sometimes it is just fun to use different sorts of languages.

While the core theory of this article, that dynamically typed languages are just statically typed languages with just one type, is correct, its extensions are questionable at best. It tries to claim that it is somehow restrictive to have on

What I'm confused about here is why the ShooTag actually has any data on it at all. Surely it would be cheaper to just make part of the plastic card black, instead of actually going to the trouble of encoding something on it.

This sounds awfully like the ownership concepts used in Rust...

This is fascinating, I didn't realize that compilers even could do so much with one simple primitive!

Actually my comment is correct. You can't use the standard public time servers. Systemd has expressed that they do not want to apply for a vendor pool, for good or for ill.

As someone on the issue notes: You cannot use pool.ntp.org either.. "You must absolutely not use the default pool.ntp.org zone names as the default configuration in your application or appliance." that's according to the pool

Not quite, the visitor pattern is a weird kind of map, that avoids specifying the exact type of arguments to the function. This article doesn't do a great job of explaining it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visitor
