I don't disagree with you (hence the upvote) but let's put this into context: what are we worried about here? My fingerprints are easily obtainable by a determined attacker. No question at all; I leave a trail of them around me ev

They've released a fix for the DYLD bug, and it didn't effect El Capitan anyway. Point of interest, but I had manually changed my sudoers file when I was running Yosemite. I'm now running the El Capitan beta. The sudoers fil

The trouble with fundamental forces is that they're fundamental. Trying to explain them in terms of something else is ultimately misleading (even though this can work with literally almost everything else). So I'm sympathetic to

Any news on long-term health risks from chemical exposure/half-lives/concentrations/wind direction etc? Last I heard the wind was blowing sea-wards after the blast, but there are a lot of people in Tianjin (and Beijing?) that

Makes sense. Hopefully this can stabilise the Google brand as something more reliable (fewer products that are launched one day, taken down the next), while still allowing them to experiment. The name is genius too; it suggests that there w

Interesting, would love to hear some of your experiences! It sounds like the issues we face are slightly different. From my field, version control is pretty much a non issue[1], most of the widespread codes use that (typically svn, but that

Thanks very much for this. It's the Z620 I'm using at the moment, and I think it's excellent. Such a productive machine. Very nice internals too, logically laid out and seems like it'd be easy to upgrade in future.

I've yet to see an experiment software I've really liked. I've seen a few people use and struggle with OpenSesame recently, which seems like an incredibly featureful and useful project, but is also awkward because of it. Pyex
